“Treat everyone you see in practice the way that you would wish your family and loved ones to be treated.”
This motto has been my guiding force since the beginning of my chiropractic career and I live by it every day. I feel so very fortunate to have spent the last 20 plus years doing what I love, helping my community through the power of chiropractic care.
I was first introduced to chiropractic a few years after an accident in December 1993 in which I fractured a vertebra in my neck. Following neck surgery/fusion, months of bracing and rehab, I continued to experience symptoms of arm/hand pain and limited neck motion. A friend suggested that I see a chiropractor. After a thorough history exam, new radiographs and treatment, I came out with a considerably improved neck range of motion and my arm symptoms fully resolved soon after. I was so glad that I had listened to my friend’s advice. I had always been a believer in the power of our bodies to self heal, and with chiropractic care helping us to do this in a fully natural way, I was hooked!
Finishing up my Biology Degree at the U of S, I headed to Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Minneapolis in January of 1999. After graduating in Spring of 2002. I decided to go to Amsterdam, Netherlands to begin my career and see the world. I spent a year and a half enjoying budget travelling, and adjusting the tallest people in Europe! Life in one of the most crazy, beautiful and busy cities was an experience that I am so thankful for as well as the wonderful people that I met and cared for there.
In the fall of 2003, I made my way back to Saskatoon. Growing up in Davidson, Saskatchewan, I felt the pull back to the prairies and to my family. 21 years later, I am so thankful that I did! I had many great years at my first office with amazing mentors, and since January 2015, have had the pleasure of being co-owner with the best colleague and friend, Dr Lindsey Crook. We have built a welcoming and caring environment for our patients of which I am very proud. Our crew of front staff, dedicated chiropractors and massage therapists strive to make everyone have the best experience possible when they are in our office.
I feel so fortunate to see all of the amazing people that come to us for help. I get to see all ages from 1 day olds to 102 year olds, all shapes, sizes and livelihoods. I always tell people that I can’t imagine being anything else than a chiropractor and I know how fortunate I am to love my job. I truly appreciate all of the patients that I have had over the years…some for 20 years, some for a couple of days. I feel so lucky and honored that these great people have allowed me to help them in their health care journey. I continue to strive to learn more every year in both technique, nutrition, and general healthy lifestyle modifications in order to help my patients the best that I can!
In my spare time, I enjoy walking and running with my dogs Aksel and Lars on the river trails, pilates, stand-up paddleboarding on our river, downhill skiing and mountain biking in Fernie BC, reading/researching, and spending time with my husband Kurtis doing all of these things! I practice what I preach and hope that my healthy and active lifestyle motivates others to follow. Health is wealth!
